Well, I got it done.

This post is late and I apologize for my tardiness. Three weeks ago, I had an outpatient surgical procedure. I cannot sit down too easy. I went to the Dr. last Monday and he said that I still have about 2-3 weeks to go before I can start feeling like my old self again.
In the meantime, I noticed that the bees have been working hard and fast for the last month so I was trying to figure a way to check them and get some more supers on. (I am not supposed to lift over 10 lbs or strain as that would put a bind on my surgical area.) It just happened that a couple (mother and son that I am mentoring) called to see how I was doing and said that I could call on them if I needed anything. Well——Come on over! They put plastic frames in three nucs.
I had them to pull one frame of honey up to the new super and replace that frame with a plastic frame with foundation. They scored the honey frame and let some honey drip down. This is to bring the bees up to the new super to investigate where the honey is coming from. They will find a new cavity and will repair the frame of honey and start pulling the foundation out as they need the cells for storage.
I was planning on checker boarding the honey super on the 10 frame hive, by alternating a comb frame and and empty frame, but I didn’t have enough comb frames so I just put plastic foundations in the wooden frames and said good luck. I will get out there in about another week, if I can get someone to do the grunt work and check to see if the bees need my help. hehe
Some of you have already pulled honey and extracted. I will be doing that when the Dr. releases me to get back to working my bees.
Have fun and drink lots of water. You can get dehydrated faster than you think. HAPPY MEMORIAL’S DAY!!!!
