This may seem strange coming from an experienced beekeeper, but I told you I am not the final voice on beekeeping. I have a honey super in my truck bed that has been there for about 3 1/2 weeks now. If you want to save your comb, then do not leave you frames in the bed of your truck in the middle of summer when the temp is high. I now have to re-wax several frames because the comb melted to the floor of the bed.
While we are at it, if you have a hive that is overcrowded, then by all means, split it before the big swarm. Check the hive at least once a month to see if you have beetle larvae. That is what has nearly killed the swarm that was in the stack of boxes to be cleaned. Now I don’t know if I can save them or not. I could not find a queen and the Small Hive Beetle and it’s babies have decimated the comb. They are in a new box with their honey and new foundation. More later.

I think we all get distracted at times and forget to get onto something that is relatively easy to take care of. The mess that it causes afterwards is not fun though.

That is a true statement. Not only do I have to clean the truck bed, I now have to scrape the frames and put in new foundation. I lost the wax comb, lost the wax for remelting for candles, and time that I could have spent on other productive operations.
